I documented the EMBL TREC expedition, aimed to explore biodiversity along Europe’s coastlines and the impact of human activity on the environment.
This story captures moments in Bilbao and Naples, where scientists, using innovative research tools like an adavanced mobile laboratory, collected and analysed biological samples at land-sea interface.
Through EMBL’s collaboration with local marine stations, this project connects ecosystem and human health, paving the way to mitigate future environmental damage.
During the expedition, researchers travelled across Europe’s coastline, collecting samples from more than 100 locations.
I have joined them in different sampling sites, including Bilbao (Spain), and Naples (Italy), providing a glimpse into the important work carried out by the researchers to understand and protect these diverse environments.
